Bio
Christopher Thompson is a native of Wilson North Carolina and has lived in Columbus Ohio since 2001. His educational background includes an Associates in Advanced Leadership at Valor Christian College, MA in Human Services and Social Work at Walden University. In 2010 he completed his BA in Psychology and Human Relations at Ohio Christian University. Currently he is working on his Phd in Developmental Psychology at Walden University. His focus on community collaboration has led him to a number of employment opportunities and leadership roles. All of his experience includes: Behavior Specialist, Mental Health Coordinator, Juvenile Detention Leadership, Life Skills Teacher, Youth Minister and College Basketball Coaching. He has been a youth liaison with several ministry organizations, Huckleberry House life skills instructor, Restore Whitehall Community Builder, Whitehall School District resource teacher, Columbus City Schools life skills teacher, and Harvest Preparatory school Bible teacher. Basic Skills was created in 2018 to bridge the gap between social skills and leadership advancement. His keynote speaking has been an inspiration to thousands of individuals across the country. The popularity of his program has expanded to different regions outside of Columbus OH. He is excited when the light comes on for so many children and they start to walk in their purpose. The role that he cherishes most of all is that of being a father to his sons Jadon Christopher Thompson and Canaan Thompson.
